6+ years designing secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS.

I'm Oyinkansola Olabode a Senior DevOps Engineer specialising in AWS cloud architecture, Terraform IaC and CI/CD automation. With 6+ years of production infrastructure experience across logistics, gaming, fintech and SaaS companies on three continents, I design systems that are reliable, secure and built to scale.
What sets me apart is a backend engineering foundation that gives me genuine systems-level intuition most DevOps engineers don't have. I understand what's running on the infrastructure I build not just how to provision it. That background means I can spot application layer issues that surface as infrastructure problems and vice versa.
I also run BuildRoulette.dev a platform where I design and ship production-grade cloud architectures, documenting explicit trade-offs across reliability, security, scalability and cost.
Led infrastructure modernisation for a logistics platform automating AWS provisioning end-to-end, building CI/CD pipelines for microservices and implementing observability infrastructure that measurably reduced incident response time and deployment errors across production.
Designed and operated containerised cloud infrastructure for a high-availability SaaS environment. Drove a 30% reduction in monthly AWS spend while maintaining 99.95% service availability and led SOC 2 preparation through infrastructure-level security hardening.
Architected and delivered full-stack infrastructure for a high-concurrency gaming platform combining DevOps and backend engineering responsibilities to ship a fully automated CI/CD pipeline and a Redis-optimised API layer built for gameplay scale.
Delivered SaaS and enterprise solutions for multiple clients across industries owning the full product lifecycle from architecture design through deployment and production operations. Built and established DevOps practices, infrastructure automation and monitoring from the ground up.
New tools earn their place by solving real problems, not by being new. Every architecture decision is evaluated against proven reliability patterns before chasing the latest trend. Infrastructure that works at 2am matters more than infrastructure that demos well.
If you do something twice, automate it. Manual processes are failure points with memory leaks. Infrastructure that can't deploy itself can't scale and teams that rely on toil will always be firefighting instead of building.
The best infrastructure design is the one the next engineer can reason about during an incident. Cleverness is a liability. Clarity is an asset. If I can't explain a system in a diagram in under five minutes, it's probably too complex.
Undocumented architecture exists only in the heads of the people who built it and they leave. Runbooks, ADRs and READMEs are first-class engineering deliverables. Writing is part of the job, not a nice-to-have after.
I regularly speak at meetups and conferences about Cloud Infrastructure, Terraform, CI/CD, and scaling DevOps practices.
